The evening half of the thirty-four game day of the ISHF LIGA PRO ELECTROSTAL OPEN 2021 saw a dramatic change in the standings, affecting mainly the prize trio.
The Molotoboytsy scored only one win, defeating the Chetyre Ledokola. The team had all but lost any chance of making the playoffs, leading their rival, Almaty, by one win out of the remaining matches to become unassailable.
Chetyre Ledokola showed a similar result to the Molotoboytsy, but this win mixed up all the cards in the top 3, and sent Belsk back to 3rd place, and Crystal to 4th at all. With no tournament goals of their own, the team sealed the fate of the regular season by beating the team from Minsk in a key match for Belsk.
Belsk, as mentioned earlier, lost a key meeting to the Chetyre Ledokola, barely beat the Molotoboytsy and in the last game of the game day gave up points to their direct rival, Uralets.
The team from Kachkanar finally managed to get three wins which allowed Uralets to climb up to the 2nd place in the standings, 1 and 2 points ahead of Belsk and Crystal respectively. With the games tied, if the team continues to show the same results, the team from Urals could epically take the silver medals of the championship, leaving behind Belsk and Crystal, who have been at the top all tournament.
The results of the evening half of the thirty-fourth game day of the ISHF LIGA PRO ELECTROSTAL OPEN 2021:
Molotoboytsy – Uralets 3:4
Belsk – Chetyre Ledokola 1:2
Chetyre Ledokola – Uralets 2:4
Belsk – Molotoboytsy 5:4
Molotoboytsy – Chetyre Ledokola 8:7
Uralets – Belsk 6:4
Ferrum and Almaty return in the 35 game day. Both teams don’t have any goals set – Ferrum certainly won’t play in the playoffs, although the Latvian team have started to perform well lately, and personally, some players could be drafted into the teams that will play in the deciding games. Almaty are in 8th place, but with a comfortable 34-point lead over the Molotoboytsy.
In the morning half of the 35 game day, the championship leaders – the already familiar Armeets and the newly formed Uralets – will play, while in the evening session Belsk should try to regain second place in the table.
