Start of the 15th Gameday of ISHF LIGA PRO ELECTROSTAL OPEN 2021

Start of the 15th Gameday of ISHF LIGA PRO ELECTROSTAL OPEN 2021

The morning half of the fifteenth game day of the ISHF LIGA PRO ELECTROSTAL OPEN 2021 presented all short hockey fans with many surprises and unexpected match outcomes.

The main surprise of the whole morning was the performance of the Ferrum team, which in the first two matches scored two sensational victories over Almaty and Four Icebreakers by a margin of 13-2. True, this was followed by a heavy defeat at the hands of Kuznas, which cooled the ardour of the Latvian team players. It’s hard to say after a while whether it was just pure luck, or whether the Latvian team’s quality play is finally beginning to show through thanks to their new players.

On the other side of the positive results is the Almaty team, which only beat Kuznas, while the rest of their matches were dismally disappointing. That’s not to say that the team’s losing streak has begun, but after an impressive winning streak, the current results don’t look good enough for a team whose leading scorer has moved into first place among the top scorers in the tournament.

Four Icebreakers continue their resurgence from the bottom of the standings, albeit tentatively, but still beating their opponents. The Icebreakers continue to ride the tournament waves from side to side, with results varying from a 7-2 victory over Kuznya, to a disappointing 0-6 loss to Ferrum

Kuznya, at the end of the day, sit fourth in the standings, only to be defeated by Latvia. The gap from 6th place is only one point, so the team from Mogilev should pull themselves together and regain the game they showed at the start of the tournament.

The results of the morning half of the fifteenth game of the ISHF LIGA PRO ELECTROSTAL OPEN 2021:

Ferrum – Almaty 7:2
Kuznya – Four Icebreakers 2:7
Almaty – Kuznya 3:2
Four Icebreakers – Ferrum 0:6
Almaty – Four Icebreakers 2:3
Ferrum – Kuznya 2:8

After this game day it was the turn of Ferrum and Almaty teams to rest. Obviously, one team goes into the weekend with an elevated mood, and the other with a less positive one. And it would seem obvious, but no, Ferrum go out on a high note, but the Almaty players will have to reflect on their performance in recent matches.
