The morning half of the twelfth game day of the ISHF LIGA PRO ELECTROSTAL OPEN 2021 began the third week of the tournament. The leaders of the tournament, Belsk, Armeets and Crystal, opened the day, with only the Molotoboytsy, floating in 9th place, standing out from the whole quartet.
Molotoboytsy already showed a very uneven game these 2 weeks, and today the team had almost no chance, because they were to date without their captain and main attacking unit – Evgeniy Kostin. As a result – 3 defeats out of three, only 5 goals scored in 3 games (with 16 conceded) and no visible prospect of improving the game.
The Armeets continue to make their way to the league title with a proud stride. Another three wins at last allowed the team from Balashikha to go clear in first place in the tournament. At the moment the Balashikha team looks like the most serious contender for the championship for Crystal.
Crystal themselves, after an unexpected rest, came back with 2 defeats in 3 games. Moreover, those defeats were quite logical, but most disastrous for the team from Electrostal — the score in these games. The loss of first place should spur this team’s players on. If a week ago the gap from their pursuer was 15 points and the team was completely out of reach, now, after every game day, Armeets will literally breathe down Crystal’s neck and vice versa.
The team from Minsk quietly made their way to 3rd place in the standings. Belsk took a humble approach to the game with Crystal, beating the Russians 2-8, thus helping the Armeets settle into a temporary first place in the table. It’s obvious that the team has found a balance in their game, the attacking unit always forces the opponent to concentrate, the defence and the goalkeeper deal with their opponents confidently ( not always). Even the defeat at the hands of the Armeets was achieved solely in the penalty shoot-out.
The results of the morning half of the twelfth game day of the ISHF LIGA PRO ELECTROSTAL OPEN 2021:
Belsk – Armeets 4-5
Molotoboytsy – Crystal 3:4
Armeets – Molotoboytsy 7:1
Crystal – Belsk 2:8
Armeets – Crystal 7:3
Belsk – Molotoboytsy 5:1
Armeets and Belsk, who excelled on the day’s Gameday, head off to a well-deserved rest. For the first time since the start of the tournament, the leader of the standings has changed. The distance between first and second place is only 1 point, but the top three are 17 points behind their opponents.
