In the morning group of the fourth gameday of the ISHF LIGA PRO ELECTROSTAL OPEN 2021
There was a very interesting combination of teams: two leaders – Crystal and Kuznya and 2 outsiders – Ferrum and Almaty. That’s why there were only two interesting matches, as the rest of the games so far featured teams from different hemispheres.
The opening game of the day was a clash of principles between Crystal and Kuznia, leaders of the tournament at the moment. The nominal home team (Crystal) decided not to repeat the scenario of the previous game (9-2) and, perhaps not having woken up, gave their opponents a two-point lead, which they successfully managed to win again.
The second intrigue of the first half of the gameday was the match between the two underdogs of the tournament, Almaty and Ferrum. The day before, the team from Kazakhstan inflicted their second straight defeat on the Latvian team in head-to-head encounters, with the Ferrum players failing to pick up a single win before that game. Finally, fans of the Baltic team can rejoice – there’s their team’s first win. In a hard-fought contest, the team from Kazakhstan couldn’t hold on to their lead, thus giving Ferrum’s players their first points.
